SPRING 2009 SCHEDULE

Below is a preliminary schedule for some of the Regional Championship locations.
PLEASE NOTE THAT DATES AND LOCATIONS CAN CHANGE!

ALL PLAYERS WILL RECEIVE AN E-MAIL INVITATION IF YOU QUALIFIED.  IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE AN E-MAIL, PLEASE BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR SPAM FILTER OR LOG ON AND CHECK UNDER MY EVENTS!

Regional Championships are what you have been playing for all season and this is your chance to move on to the National Championships in Las Vegas this Fall.

Please keep the following things in mind...

You need to be 21 years old (by the time of the National Championship) in order to play in Regionals and must have ID with you.

There is a qualified wait list for each location.  You will see your name and/or receive an e-mail if you are on this list.  There is a 95% chance you will receive a seat if you are on the wait list.  BUT you can not just put your name on a wait list at the event.

REGIONAL RULES & GUIDELINES

Please keep in mind that World Tavern Poker runs 19 Regional Championships around the country each season for upwards of 5,000 players!

Qualified Regionals - A qualified regional championship is defined by a minimum of 5 bars in your Area

Dates, Locations and Times
are subject to change. Please check the website often to make sure you have the most up to date information.

Age - You must be 21 to play in a Regional Championship because the winners move on to the Nationals at a Casino!

Locations - We do our best to choose locations that are centrally located to the bars who are participating.  But that is not always possible.  Please keep in mind that this is a Regional Championship and not a “2 mile away championship” ?.  One thing many players do is carpool to these events.

Dates - We also attempt to have most Regional Championship events on Saturdays or Sundays however at times the only possible available date is on a weeknight.

E-mail Invitations - E-mail invitations go out before each event (sometimes just a few days before because of timing). If you do not get an e-mail but feel you qualified, you can log onto www.WorldTavernPoker.com with your player log in info, and click on the MY EVENTS tab. You will see all the events you are registered for including Regional Championships.

Wait Lists - Because not everyone can make it to Regional Championships, we create a qualified waiting list. YOU MUST HAVE QUALIFIED FOR THIS WAITING LIST and will receive an invitation. It is rare that a player on the waiting list does not get a seat at Regionals. So come on out and there is a great chance you will get to play. YOU CAN NOT SIGN UP FOR A WAIT LIST AT THE VENUE.

Tournament Structure - The tournament structure for each event is the standard World Tavern Poker structure with 9,900 in starting chips.

Not Transferable - Regional Qualifying seats are not transferable.

National Championships - The Top Players from these Regional Championships will be playing in the Winter National Championships during the World Tavern Poker Open in Atlantic City and there chance at 1 of 8 seats into World Series of Poker Events!

WHO QUALIFIES FOR A REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP?

For a Qualified Regional Championship (at least 5 WTP bars in your “Area”), the following is a list of ways to qualify.

TOP 10 TAVERN RANKING - The Top 10 from ranked players from each Tavern (at the end of the season) automatically qualify for their Regional Championships.

Click here to view the current player rankings

http://www.worldtavernpoker.com/PlayerRanking.aspx

SEMI-FINAL TAVERN CHAMPIONSHIPS - Any player who has won a Semi-Final Table at their Tavern Championships also qualifies. Please note, that because of the short amount of time between Tavern Championships and Regionals your name may not be on the list…BUT DON'T WORRY, YOU ARE GUARANTEED A SEAT WHEN YOU SHOW UP!

REGIONAL RANKING - Depending on the # of local taverns and players invited, your Regional ranking can also earn you a seat in Regionals. Check the list of Qualified Players at the end of the season to see if your name is on the list.

TAVERN SEAT -  Each Tavern gets to give away 1 seat to Regionals. Some Taverns give it to their TD, others run a special tournament.

WHO QUALIFIES FOR NATIONALS FROM REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS?

There are 3 standard types of Regional Championships dependent on the number of bars in that area.

Single Regional Event - 120 qualified players.  Top 10 qualify for Nationals

Double Regional Event - 240 +/- qualified players.  Top 20 qualify for Nationals.

Triple Regional Event - 300 + qualified players.  Top 30 qualify for Nationals.

1-3 Taverns = Winner receives 1 Free Badge to the World Tavern Poker Open.

4 Taverns = Winner receives Hotel accommodations at Nationals and 1 Free Badge  to the Open

WHAT IS A BADGE TO THE WTP OPEN?
